Rigging & Slinging

An essential requirement for everyone who needs to attach a load to a crane or hoist. Any load heavy enough to warrant the use of mechanical lifting equipment has the potential to cause serious harm if the load is allowed to swing violently or escapes from its slinging arrangement.

Known Operating Problems

  • Incorrectly secured loads falling from their slinging arrangements with obvious consequences.
  • Lack of slinging knowledge resulting in incorrect assumptions regarding the strength of lifting tackle when used in a variety of ways causing equipment to be overloaded and ulimately fail.
